About JJ
For over 35 years, JJ has fine tuned his skills as a guitar tech by providing truly outstanding service to wide variety of customers. From beginners to touring and recording professional guitarists, everyone who owns a guitar has at some point needed help to make their guitars sound the way they are supposed to sound. Even more importantly, a guitar must “feel” good when you’re playing it. This “feel” can make the difference between a beginner learning correct techniques easily and having every session be a struggle. For professionals, the ease and comfort they “feel” when on stage or in studio means the difference between coaxing even the most nuanced notes and passages right or just sounding generic.
JJ found that when he was working in guitar stores and various shops around the country, it was difficult to get all of the information he needed to make sure that the guitars he worked on were working properly for the clients. He wasn’t able to “hear” and “see” HOW the clients were playing their guitars most of the time. Hearing someone say that the guitar action was too high or too low isn’t the same as watching the guitarist play their instrument.
And an even bigger issue has emerged during the pandemic—TIME. Guitar sales spiked during 2020-2022 and that meant more and more people were learning to play which caused most shops to experience a backlog for even basic services like restringing guitars. Nothing can kill the enthusiasm of a new guitarist faster than having to wait a week (or more) for something as basic and a simple restring. And it is even worse for professionals who rely on their instruments for their livelihood.
These are the main reasons that Guitar Concierge was born—it’s the best way for JJ to be able to provide the superior service that allows him to help the most people in the best ways possible. By coming to your home or business to perform most guitar repairs, maintenance and services, JJ can watch you play, listen to your instruments in the ‘native environment’ and make recommendations based on your relationship with your guitar.
It’s the ultimate service for guitarists of all skill levels. And it’s as convenient as making a phone call and answering your door!
